Sometimes The Myth Of Our Famed Characters Is Different To The Lives They Had Lived.

After the death of John Wesley, John Pawson burnt an edition of a Shakespeare play that had been annotated by the famed preacher. It was decided that the reputation of Welsey needed to be preserved,  and that the people shouldn’t know that he had given his time to activities outside of the work of Methodism.

A funny side story that highlights that sometimes the myth of our famed characters is different to the lives they had lived.
